Easy riding, setting off with everyone else, very quiet route to an easy split, a very quiet short little hill followed by a very scenic return ride across the levels - ideal if you are not a regular cyclist or may have a keener cyclist out on a longer distance and you want to ride while they go further afield. You are free to ride ANY further distance on the day, but please enter the distance that you intend to ride to help us make provisions for feed stops if you are on the 100k or 100mile route and helps us have an idea where on the route you might be.
No feed or water station is provided for the short 33mile route.
Nice tempo/social terrain, no really steep gradients. First feed stop is in Long Load at 67k- after that you will reach a split with options to continue right onto the 100mile or head back home on the 100k route via Butleigh across the levels. You are free to ride ANY distance on the day, but please enter the distance you intend to ride to help us make provisions for feed stops and also help us know roughly where you may be on the road.
The first 60miles are relatively easy terrain, first feed stop is in Long Load at 67k - after that you will reach a split with options to continue on the 164k (100mile) or head back home on the 100k (66mile) route across the levels. From this split the 100mile route will take you steadily up to the second feed stop at 106k after which you will then make your way to the highest point of the Mendips, without any ridiculous or long 'macho' gradients. From there you will have a long recovery decent into Wells and return across the levels. You are free to ride ANY distance on the day, but please enter the distance you intend to ride to help us make provisions for feed stops and also help us know roughly where you may be on the road.
We use the British Cycling event entry system, you DO NOT need to be a member - here are some screen grabs of what you will see on our entry page and the ride length options. You can ride any distance on the day but enter your intended distance to help us with feed stop provisions and at morning sign on:
